Easy Homemade Peanut Butter

So this recipe isn't anything too crazy, I just wanted to share with you how easy it is to make your own peanut butter (and customize it)! Peanut butter you buy in the store is filled with preservatives and chemicals that you don't need to be putting into your body, and the all natural peanut butters are usually super expensive.

Peanuts are actually very cheap, so if you decide to make your own peanut butter you will be saving quite a few dollars. I've blended up 3 cups of peanuts with olive oil and honey for the classic version, but you can add cinnamon or even cocoa powder if you want something more fun.

*makes 500ml

Ingredients:

3 cups roasted peanuts

3 tbsp olive oil (can use canola, peanut, sunflower, etc.)

2 tbsp honey (more or less depending on how sweet you would like it)

salt to taste

Add ins:

2 tbsp cinnamon

or

3 tbsp cocoa powder + 1 extra tbsp honey

Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend until it is the consistency you would like.

If you would like chunky peanut butter, save 1/2 cup of peanuts and add them in at the end, blending for only about 10-15 seconds.

If you are adding any cinnamon or cocoa powder these ingredients can go in with the rest of the ingredients in the beginning.

Transfer peanut butter to a jar and enjoy!
